Woke up feeling rather grotty. I'd only drunk two pints at the BBQ and I felt as if I was hungover. I phoned Steve Tree at 08:30 and was half hoping that he didn't want to go because of the weather. He seemed keen though. I was feeling quite rough. We met at the Gower Inn and decided to try the fron of Great Tor. Problem. The tide. Still, we could do South Edge and poodle around on Little Star Wall, etc and wait for the tide. I really began to feel grim when Steve led the first climb. Sore throat and shivers. Still, it warmed up and we had a very quick ascent of East Ridge. Steve is really flowing on the rock now. We decided today that we should plan a trip to the Cyrwy Arete for two or three weeks time. We think Frank might be up for it. Would be a nice "Alps Training Day". Finished off at The Joiners (of course). Began to feel very grim indeed. The beer didn't help. At home I flopped exhausted on the sofa and went to sleep. Have taken paracetamol and feel a little better. Will have an easy day tomorrow!
