Rhossili - Shipwreck and Castaway Coves

Saturday, August 16, 2014

This afternoon I went over to Rhossili to get some photos of the new crags. Roy Thomas had said he would be down there.

The tide was a little too high for the coves when I arrived but there was already a queue of people waiting to get in.

I've never seen so many people at a Gower crag. There were children, dogs and a drone! I thought it must be some sort of bolt-clippers party, but I guess it's just popular. I really can't see why.

Roy didn't seem to be there I took a panorama of what I thought was Mermaid Cove and headed back to the top of the cliff. It's actually Castaway Cove/

On the way back I met Roy who was on his way back down. He told be that I'd missed Mermaid Cove as it was out beyond the headland and was only just then becoming exposed. I said I'd leave the photos for when we had better weather.
