My father's paternal Grandfather.
John Edgar Hoddy
The story is that he fought for the lady below's hand in marriage on the village green at Hitcham, Suffolk. He married her in 1884 so I guess he must have prevailed in the fight.
Jane Rush
My father thinks she looks very calm and kind. She died in 1928 some three years before my father was born.
