![]() I like the fact that in those days we didn't worry too much about having the right gear. We were, however, very careful to pick days to climb/walk when the weather was pretty much guaranteed to be settled. I think these days, if we were to turn up on the summit in those clothes, we'd get some rather funny looks. It's all the advertising and promotion of gear that "saves your life". The advertisers forget to tell you that experience and knowledge saved more lives tha expensive nice gear.
