Sometimes I think it's not worth writing up in the blog the times when I go to say, Barland Quarry or Great Tor. I go to the Quarry because it's convenient and ...ermm... it's near The Joiners! The climbing on Great Tor is not much to shout about either, however Shane and I went to Great tor today for Shane's first multi-pitch. Beautiful weather and when we were out of the wind, almost 'T'-shirt temmperatures. I suppose I get a bit of a buzz taking beginners out and showing them something new. As we descended from the 'col' to the start of the route, we saw two punters at the start of the second pitch. They appeared to want to do the 4c alternative pitch. Shane and I waited! I told Shane that the leader would probably come off and sure enough, he did. He looked ruefully up at the climb, retrieved his gear and headed off up the easy way. Beautiful view on the top. Joiners afterwards and plans to climb tomorrow!
