The Jean's House in Nevache

Thursday, February 19, 2015

From my walking trip in 2010.

Passing through Nevache I took this photo of Monsieur Emile Jean's house. I have no idea whether his family use the house now but it looked unoccupied when I passed by.

The fron of the house looks very pretty. It has a lovely wooden balcony. The side you can see faces north and so has only a few tiny windows. I guess it can get pretty cold in Nevache in winter.

I first stayed there when I went to the Alps by myself aged 11. Ate my first fondue there (which I loved) and my first olive (which I hated).

Emile Jean was very kind. He died a few years ago.

When the "two Dicks" and I went to Nevache, we walked/scrambled up the little peak in the centre of the shot. On the way down we ran a really lovely (out of shot) scree.
