Wikileaks' message is that we ought not to take everything on trust. I'm not confident I know which site is the "official" one; www.wikileaks.org or www.wikileaks.ch. Note that www.wikileaks.org re-directs to www.wikileaks.info. The first link was -- or perhaps still is -- reported by Spamhaus as a malware site. See their article. I can understand all of the above. It makes sense. However... there is no "official" way for us to confirm any of these facts. The original Wikileaks site was, before the big US Govt. leaks, of a completely different form to the one presented to us now and there has been (as far as I'm aware) no explanation as to the reason for the change. This doesn't make sense. It also doesn't make much sense that Wikileaks appears to have stopped releasing US cables over the Christmas period. Ok, it's possible that the Wikileaks folks are having a holiday over Christmas but neither The Guardian nor Der Spiegel have anything to say about the drying up of leaks. That's odd. Given the suspicion that must exist amongst many that there are bound to be be "dirty tricks" involved with all this, if they know the answer, why haven't these two newspapers sought to reassure their readers? If these news organisations are in the dark, why haven't they said, "Wikileaks have stopped releasing leaks and we don't know why"? The Register put this article up on the 21st December.
