Steve Tree, Chris and I went to Cathole.

Just as we were starting, the scoutmaster turned up. He got out of his car and shouted up.

"You can't climb here".

"We're not climbing!"

Of course we weren't.

"You can't abseil here either!"

"We're not abseiling!" Also true.

He drives away and comes back 15 minutes later armed with his wife.

"I must ask you to go"

"I must say, 'no!'"

"I'll ask once more. Will you go!"

"No!"

"I'm the Warden. Once more. [yawn] Will you leave please!"

"No. Show me your authority"

"I will if you come down here!"

"No, you come here." Why should I have to go all the way down there?

"I'll phone the police!"

"That's ok!" Actually it is! I know he's not the warden, he's a local scoutmaster.

He takes out his mobile phone and pretends to make a call. He drives off.

We continue with our rope and we retire to the Joiners at about 21:00.

We Had a good chat about the Alps trip. Just as we are leaving Dave turns up with Jo Lush. So... I just had to stay for another pint!
