I took this picture on a walk I did at the end of August 2010. I had
just returned from a walking trip in the Alps. The three "peaks" are
Corn Du. Pen y Fan and Cribin.
I find it difficult to get any enthusiasm to go for a walk in the
Brecon Beacons. It's the weather maybe. More likely the grassy slopes
and mono-culture plantation forestry. I find it all a bit depressing.
I haven't been back there since.
Below is one taken in Switzerland (near Lugano) in 2009. It's of the
Finsteraarhorn - the highest peak in the Bernese Oberland. It's some
60 miles distant in this photo.
I could see the Finsteraarhorn from my bedroom window in Oberlindach
when I lived there, but of course then I was looking at it from the North.
