I checked out this little unknown crag on Gower. It's unknown
for a good reason. It's rubbish!
I think it would make a good little crag for the others to practice
on next Sunday. It can be climbed on anywhere quite easily; it's long and can
be laced with protection. It's a little loose in places, but this can
be avoided.
They can practice some rope/anchor stuff and perhaps
some efficient abseiling. One chap (The Chairman) told me he had
never climbed in anything but rock shoes! So, mountaineering type
skills rather than Gower cragging skills.
Kim told them all last week that when they get on the Cwfrwy Arete,
with me they'll all cry with fear and the cold. He told them of the
time I abandoned climbing the arete when my two partners "lost it".
On that occasion we had to abseil off.
I hope the session will give them some confidence...
