I took Rob back to Bristol today. I think he's pleased to be back abd
I suppose that's a good thing.
Stopped off at Staples on the way back to see, on the off chance,
whether they had a 5V, 1500mA power adapter for the Raspberry-Pi. They
didn't.
I'm going to attempt to run if off a USB port and see whether I can
actually start its SSH server. If so, I may be able to run it
"headless" and without a keyboard from a USB port on one of my
servers. However USB ports are limited at 500mA... I may run
into difficulties.
The photo below is from my walking trip in the Alps in 2010.
It's a nice spot. My family camped there twice in the early 70s. We
stayed there one year for almost 5 weeks.
It was much more overgrown back then and there was very little quality
pasture as there is now. The village of Nevache, which you can see in
the background, is also rather more developed than it was back then,
though it - thankfully - has resisted many of the development temptations to which
many other high alpine vilages have succumbed.
I camped there for the last time in the summer of 1976 for three weeks with the two
Dicks, (Pears and Perry). We used this field as our "valley base". A
week after we returned to the UK I went off to Glasbury where I met
Louise for the first time.
I spent a few hours at this spot in 2010.
